  Previously in Alien Surrogacy:

Jen, a young human woman desperate for money, agreed to travel to a distant planet and be a surrogate mother for a rich alien couple. During her stay on the planet Elendama, she was impregnated by the male alien, as expected.

She didn’t expect to fall in love with the mysterious, brooding, servant living in their house. Jen and Fezren built an unlikely friendship, and Jen discovered that the handsome alien was a prince, being held hostage after an inter-planetary war.

The pair made a plan to escape, with Fezren using the chaos of Jen going into labor to slip away. She could deny all knowledge of his flight and then fly to his planet to join him after the birth.

However, it turns out things didn’t go according to plan - she has just given birth, and it was Fezren’s baby that she had. Luckily, she managed to escape aboard a spacecraft. The ship has just landed on Fezren’s home planet, Ralia.

Jen steps off the spacecraft, excited but nervous. Her new life is about to begin…

  *****

Fezren fidgeted uncomfortably on his throne as yet another old man approached to teach him about some long outdated rules of the court. There had been a constant stream of such men, explaining every aspect of Ralia to him.

Usually, the King himself would pass down important advice to his next of kin, but the murder of Fezren’s father had taken away that possibility.

The past month had been overwhelming. Transitioning from a slave to the King had been a massive shock to his system, and even though intellectually he knew he was free now, there was still a part of him that couldn’t believe it.

As the previous King’s eldest son, Fezren had been next in line for the throne. Despite his isolation, the Ralians had decided to stick to tradition and crown him King upon his return from Elendama.

Three years. I was in that hellhole for three years. Every time Fezren thought about it a hot flash of anger would surge through his body. Mali, that bitch, had robbed him of his father and deprived him of three years of his life. He would still be her prisoner if not for the Earthling Jen’s brave plan to rescue him.

He wondered where she was. Her ship had left just a day or two after his and she should have arrived on Ralia weeks ago. He tried not to let this worry him. She probably accidentally took a spacecraft with a lot of detours, he told himself. She doesn’t speak the Common Galactic Tongue very well.

It didn’t completely get rid of the fear. He forced it to the back of his mind.

He had sent several undercover guards off with the mission of finding her, in case she had gotten herself into any trouble. There was nothing more he could do, and he had a kingdom to care for.

Fezren smiled and thanked the old man for his service and the ancient alien bowed low before departing the room.

It was time for a break.

Fezren sighed as he stood up, smiling politely at Freyna as he went.

The girl had been sitting watching the court proceedings all morning, presumably for no purpose other than to be close to him. She batted her eyelashes as she smiled back.

The daughter of a nobleman, Freyna had just reached marriage age. He knew that both his family and hers expected them to get married. In fact, to not do so would be scandalous, but he couldn’t think about that right now. The morning in court had already emotionally exhausted him.

Fezren headed to the lounge room where he knew his mother would be.

As always, her large green eyes lightened when she looked at him. He knew that meant she was happy. Different shades conveyed different emotions. All emotions had their own unique green color, though some changes were a lot more subtle than others. Some other alien races joked around about the eyes of Ralians, calling them “mood eyes”.

Most of the time Fezren didn’t mind. It was only when a skilled lie detector knew which shade represented lying that things got messy. Fortunately, that secret rarely left their species.

“Hi, Mom,” he said as the woman came over to give him a hug.

“Hello, son,” she smiled at him. “How was court today?”

  Fezren grimaced in response.

“It will get better,” she said soothingly. “There’s just a lot to get used to.”

  “I know. Thank you.”

One of Fezren’s nephews ran over. He frowned as he tried to remember the child’s name. Fezren had thirty siblings, and therefore a lot of nieces and nephews!

“Hello, Your Majesty,” the boy said in a high-pitched little voice. “Would you like to play a game with me?”

Fezren fought back a smile at the unnatural formality of the boy’s speech. “Hello. I can’t right now, but maybe later?”

The boy nodded and ran off. He opened the door, revealing somebody waiting on the other side. The woman’s silver skin, green eyes, and pointed ears marked her as a Ralian, but he didn’t recognize her.

“Who are you? What are you doing lurking outside the door?” Fezren asked the woman suspiciously. His guards standing silently in the corners of the room straightened their backs and tightened their grips on their weapons.

This didn’t go unnoticed by the woman. She cleared her throat nervously. “Pardon me, Your Majesty. My name is Lafra. I’m new to the castle, so I’m still in training. I have a message but wasn’t sure if I should knock. I don’t know how important the message is, and didn’t want to disturb you in case you don’t care about it.” The woman babbled on nervously until Fezren held up a hand. She quietened.

“It’s okay,” Fezren told her. “Now, what’s your message?”

“There’s somebody at the palace entrance who wants to see you. Says her name’s Jen? She said you’d know who she is.”

  *****

Fezren’s heart skipped a beat when he saw Jen standing there, wearing a simple green dress.

She was beautiful, even though her alien features were quite different to his own. Her blue eyes were narrower than those of Ralians and they never changed color. Her skin was an odd mix of beige, white and pink, only found in the huma
n species. He loved her long, copper-colored hair, which cascaded down her back in gentle waves.

“Fezren!” Jen cried out when she saw him. He loved the way she smiled, revealing a single row of perfect white teeth. He had always found it disconcerting when a being had more than one row of teeth.

She began to make her way towards him as her steps echoed around the grand entrance hall. It was then that he noticed the bundle in her arms.

“I’m so happy to see you again!” Jen exclaimed. “I’m glad you made it here safely.”

“Likewise,” he said, resisting the urge to walk forward and embrace her. They weren’t alone in the room and it was inappropriate for the King to hug a woman who wasn’t his wife. Especially a woman who wasn’t even from Ralia.

“This is my daughter,” Jen said, glancing down at the bundle in her arms.

He detected a note of apprehension in her voice.

“She’s your daughter, too,” she said quietly.

It was! As he glanced down, he could see his own features mixed with Jen’s. The baby had wide green eyes, silvery skin, and a tuft of coppery hair on her head.

The baby’s eyes caught his own, and Fezren felt his heart twist in his chest. “Can I hold her?” he murmured.

Jen passed the baby over and Fezren held her in his muscular arms, feeling like a giant as he held the fragile child. The baby continued to stare at him trustingly. As he stared back into those green eyes, his green eyes, he felt his heart burst with love.

I will always protect you, he vowed to his daughter.

“So, what’s happening next? When are we going to get married?” Now that she had put on a change of clothes and had something to eat, Jen was looking much happier and relaxed in the unfamiliar environment.

Fezren cringed. This was the conversation he had been dreading.

He hesitated. “It’s complicated,” he said. “When I proposed to you, I hadn’t heard from home in three years. I assumed that the crown would have passed to the next oldest child, my brother Knowl.”

  “So?”

“There are certain things expected of a king. I’m supposed to marry a Ralian woman from a noble family. Not rule with a human woman and a child born out of wedlock.”

“And you care more about tradition than you do for me,” Jen concluded, letting out a strange little laugh.

“No, of course not! If breaking tradition was the only problem I’d marry you in a heartbeat.”

“So what’s the problem?” Her voice was quiet, and not at all confident. He could tell that although she had asked the question, she was scared of the answer.

“We had a war three years ago. Our planet was devastated. We’re trying to rebuild entire cities, repopulate our decimated people, and rediscover lost technology. We need all the support we can get from the noble families. And if I marry you instead of one of their own, I make enemies.”

Jen blinked rapidly as she struggled to hold back tears.

“Jen!” Fezren said, his forehead creasing as he took in her distressed expression. “I love you, you know that. I still want to be with you. It’s just not possible to marry you. I’ll marry Freyna, but I can buy a house for you and the child to live in. We can still be together!”

“”You want me to be your mistress?” Jen spat the word out in anger. “I traveled across half the galaxy to be with the man I love, and you want to pretend to your family and friends that I don’t exist!”

“Jen, this isn’t the way I want it to be, it’s the way it has-”

“No! You know what, forget it!” Jen slammed the door behind her as she fled from the room.

  *****

Jen didn’t speak to Fezren for five days. Instead, she sat in a guest room, fuming.

He didn’t come to see her or the still unnamed baby. The only contact Jen had had was with a servant who brought her food five times a day.

She didn’t want to talk to Fezren, but the fact that he hadn’t come for her made her even angrier.

She had sacrificed so much for him! She had been willing to leave planet Earth to be with him. And he didn’t even care enough to ask her how her trip was.

The room was boring, too. It was big and tastefully decorated, but completely empty of personality. There were no books, no cool pieces of alien technology, no strange fashion in the wardrobe, no windows with interesting views.

There was a light knock on the door. Goody. Lunch time.

But when she unlocked and opened the door, it wasn’t the kitchen runner on the other side. It was a stranger, with a long hood casting his face into shadows. Everything about him screamed danger.

Jen’s breath hitched in her throat as she tried to slam the door shut, but he caught it just in time.

The tall creature seemed to be floating slightly as he forced his way into the room.

“No!” Jen shrieked, trying to push it back out. “Stay away from us!” There was something about him that filled her with fear. It was almost as if he were sending out waves of terror around the room. A particularly strong tremor of fear ran through her body. A millisecond later, Baby started crying.

Jen’s ears starting ringing and bright circles of white started appearing in her vision. She started squinting. What was that in the figure’s hand? Was he carrying a knife? She couldn’t see clearly with the spots dancing around her vision.

Then a strong smell of sulfur hit the room, and she felt nothing.

  *****

Jen woke up in a different room. The ceiling was a bright white color that almost seemed to glow, but she couldn’t move her neck to see the rest of the room. What was happening?! Jen felt panic rising up in her as she tried to twitch her fingers, but couldn’t do that either. She wanted to open her mouth to scream, but her body refused to move.

  Where am I? What’s happening?

Sometimes, she could see movement out of the corner of her eyes, but couldn’t tell who - or what - it was.

It was hours before she regained enough control to move her neck. She twisted to the side, looking around the room. A row of seats sat on one side of the room, next to the door. They were all empty, except for one.

Fezren’s head was resting in his hands, his long fingers covering his face.

“Fez?” Jen’s weak voice carried strongly in the dead silent room.

His head shot up to look at her. “Jen,” he breathed, rushing to her side. “You’re awake!”

“How long has it been?” Jen asked drowsily.

  “Seven days.”

“Where’s Baby? Is she okay?” she asked anxiously.

“Yes, she’s fine. She wasn’t hurt.” He paused, and his mouth curved into a slight smile. “Baby’s an interesting choice for a name.”

“She doesn’t have a name yet. I was waiting so we could do it together, but I guess that’s not happening now.”

“I’d like to name her together,” Fezren said. “Families should make decisions together.”

“We’re not a family. I’m your mistress,” Jen said bitterly.

“I want us to be a family. I almost lost you this week,” he said, his voice cracking. “That conversation we had in the lounge could have been the last time I ever spoke to you. I can’t live apart from you. I’m sorry about what I said before, I was being stupid. I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, and we’ll face any problems together. As a team.” He knelt down beside her, so their eyes were level. “Jennifer Harris, will you marry me?”

  “Of course!” Jen said, beaming.

  Fezren grinned back.

“You’re so beautiful,” he murmured, his hand stroking her cheek.

“Really?” Jen’s voice cracked mid-word, betraying how close to tears she was. Being alone and on the run with a brand new baby in tow had been emotionally exhausting.

Though they had only been apart for less than two months, her hormones were out of control and she felt miserable, as if she had been lonely for years. What she needed w
as closeness. To be hugged and reassured that everything was going to be okay.

Jen mustered all of her limited strength to reach up her arms, to pull Fezren onto the bed with her.

As they embraced, his bass voice echoed around in her ears, reassuring and relaxing her. I love you.

He went in for the kiss, but Jen pulled away, burying her head into his chest instead.

  “What’s wrong?” Fezren asked.

“Nothing,” she said, too embarrassed to admit that she was worried what he’d think of her body now that she’d given birth.

“I’m going to make you feel really good,” he murmured huskily.

Jen shivered at his tempting promise.

“I love you, Fez,” she said, looking up.

“I love you too,” Fezren replied, capturing her lips in his own.

Jen allowed herself to give in. She kissed him back with passion and gasped as his hands grabbed her butt.

She giggled as he lifted her up, before gently repositioning her so that he was directly above her before swooping down, claiming her lips again.

Jen didn’t care that others might hear them. All she cared about was that stiff cock in his pants. Its outline was teasing her.

She yanked him down, so that their bodies were pressing together. She loved feeling his comforting weight on top of her.

Fezren groaned at the friction as Jen started grinding her body against his. He responded, his eager body pressing her into the flimsy mattress.

They went slowly, running their hands over each other. For the first time, there was no rush. There was no fear of Mali walking in and catching them in the act, no fear of punishment.

Jen lifted up the flimsy hospital gown she’d been dressed in, revealing her body to her fiance.
